Centerpieces for Oblong Tables?

Centerpieces for Oblong Tables?

My reception place has oblong tables...I feel like I can do something different for centerpieces instead of the usual round floral pieces.

For those of you who have (or had) oblong (or rectangle) tables...what did you do for centerpieces? Pics would be nice too, if you have & want to share...

I had a combination of oblong and round tables. Centerpieces were the same for all of them.

I had a combination of rounds and longs - I had round centerpieces with votives. On the oblong tables they had put the votives lengthwise down the table.

I have often seen interesting centerpieces for long tables in Martha Stewart weddings. Check out past issues. Some that I remember are wheat grass, fruit and bonsai trees.

Those look pretty, Lisa...

I definitely want a LOT of candles...I'm going to do the votice place setting idea...was tossing around doing different sized pillars down the middle of the tables with simple, small arrangements (maybe 1-3 flowers) in each vase. I dunno, I'd have to see pics or samples b4 I decided...and I have a load of time to decide.
