Will someone please send me the thread with the non-floral centerpieces.
Has anyone ever done anything besides candles?

Ang, remind me to show you a centerpiece that I have in a magazine. I'll try to post it later. Basically its a vase like this one (but obviously you can use whatever kind you like):
In the vase were starfish and shells and sand -- basically anything to do with a beach theme. It looked really pretty and then you can put votive candles all around it on the table.

That is a great idea to use, I am using the same holder for my place card table. I want to fill up the glass with mini apples.

Do you think i could put either: floating lillies on top, or floating candles on top? See i like the bottom of the vase, but maybe something a little wider at the toP??

I don't have a picture but my FBIL did small fish bowls with marbles in the bottom the color of his wedding party(blue and clear), with 1 blue beta in each bowl. The guests were fighting over them.

a giant conch shell with some flowers in it (or not) and other shells around it.
You could do something like this - with a giant hurricane and a candle and sand/stones to match your color scheme and sea shells. Maybe put some random sea shells or candles around it?
ETA: I heard the beta fish often die if you use them as CP - it sound cool, but dead beta fish floating around in your CP -
i dont have pics - but i went to a wedding were they had statues of a man and a woman embracing eachother - placed on a mirror with rose petals around it - it was gorgeous!!!!!!
