FFIL's friend has a central AC. We decided to see how much it would be. We were thinking MAYBE $5000! FH just called me and it's $13,400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess we will never get central air. Oh well!!!

It was for duct work and 2 systems, 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs.

Thats alot for Central Air... I can't believe it!!! Maybe you should have someone else price it out... Shop around before you decide no, because that's more on the expensive side.

That's right. I had the same thing installed wen I built the second floor and it cost me around the same thing. I think $100 difference.

That was probably 1 zone. the cost is around 7k for 1 zone and unit. I had 5 estimates and they were all within a few hundred of each other. but I had to have ac
