Ceramic Plates

Can I paint over cermaic plates that have gloss on them? The plates are currently white and I want pink. No sure if I can because there is a glaze on the ceramic. If I can, do you know what I can use???

Not if you're using them for eating!!! You'll wind up eating paint.

If you're just using them to decorate, you might have to rough them up with a little sandpaper and then paint...then maybe spray a gloss on them when the paint is dry.
