Does anyone store their cereal in those sealable canisters? Does it stay fresh for a while...The boxes hardly fit in my cabinet and it looks so sloppy...

Re: Cereal Storage
We bought a set of tupperware storage containers in all shapes and sizes and use that. It's great. The cereal lasts much longer!!

Re: Cereal Storage
I dont want to store John Anthony's cheerios in anything because he gets a kick out of the box John, even though he doesnt eat much cereal, is also a 'read the box while you eat' kinda person so this would take the fun out of it I have used the tall plastic storage containers (like a 2Liter size).

Re: Cereal Storage
I bought these containers at Target:
I just tried some cereal that has to be well over 6 months old and it tasted fresh.

Re: Cereal Storage
If you store it in a cabinet...rubbermaid makes one just for cereal with a spout to pour it. It is not something you want to leave out though it is just clear with a blue (I think they have different color tops)top. Keeps cereal fresh along time.

Re: Cereal Storage
I store cereal in the box.
I use these containers for Flour, Sugar, and Tea... I want to get the Biscuits jar next!
I use these for flour, sugar, brown sugar, confectioner's sugar, etc. Mostly just my baking supplies.
For cereal, we go through it really fast so we usually just leave it in the boxes in the pantry. But, for some granola and puffed wheat that I don't eat as fast, I use the Tupperware cereal containers, and they are great at keeping stuff fresh.
