So I know how the ceremony goes in the church, there are readings, songs, etc.
However, FH & I might get married at the RH. Are there still readings, music, etc? How does this work? Where does the music come from? Basically, what is the format of a Wedding Ceremony at a RH?

Re: Ceremony
i was a bm for my friends wedding at an RH and there were no readings. Her priest had read some poem or something I remember but didn't have somebody else come up and read.

Re: Ceremony
You can customize the ceremony to what you want. Usually the ceremony at the RH is a lot shorter than the one in a church. We chose not to have any readings or any of the extra things like the Unity candle or sand ceremony. Our officiant said a few nice words, then told a story about how we met and then the vows. The music was provided by our DJ. I think it was an extra $100 for them to do it. The officiant brought her own mic and PA. Have fun and make it your own!

Re: Ceremony
I'm pretty sure when the ceremony is at the RH, you can really do whatever you want as long as you can fit it into the ceremony time.

Re: Ceremony
Awesome! Thanks girls. I'm glad it sounds like there's some freedom because I like the readings & music, but don't necessarily want the whole Church process.

Re: Ceremony
You can make the ceremony however you want at the RH, its something you would have to work out with your Officiant

Re: Ceremony
we talked to our officiant about it too. we are doing 2 reading, (love related becuase religion isnt a big part of our lives) and a sand ceremony. Our DJ is providing the music, you can hire musicians too if you wanted a more traditional feel. we chose some non-traditional songs for the ceremony from our Dj though.

Re: Ceremony
We are doing it at the RH as well - should be about 20-30 mins long. We'll be doing two readings (poems) and the hand ceremony. The DJ will be doing the music as well since they will not have to do an alternate setup (reception will be in the same room). They only charged a little bit extra to do the music.
