I've been to several weddings where no one in the audience could hear the bride and groom exchanging their vows.
Are you having a microphone?
Does the DJ set this up for you?

This is a VERY good question. I am having my ceremony at the RH and they don't provide squat. Was wondering how the guests would hear the ceremony.....!!!

I made a note to myself at the last wedding I went to that I would definitely have microphones.
I think many brides don't think about this very important detail. Then the audience ends up being unable to hear anything except the officiant.

DH was microphoned so you could hear me through his mic (and other mics int he church for music)
ETA: Videographer was the one who provided the wireless mic he wore

Our DJ did the music for the ceremony and included with that provided a microphone for the officiant...funny thing (another thing they messed up) , but the officiant made a remark that totally had DH & I laughing... DH was also mic'd for the video. (provided by videographer)

Correct...that's only for the video.
Our guests could hear us through the officiants mic. that was provided by our DJs.

I asked at my hall and they said ask the DJ. I asked the DJ and he said he will provide sound for the ceremony.

Yes, this is what we are doing to be heard on the video--I just read above I guess we will hopefully have another mic at the church- I will have to check into further
