ceremony and invitation help needed

Hi! Ok here is my dilemma-I am having my ceremony at Coe Hall-which has a 125 person maximum (not including vendors) My guest list is at about 160/175-So I was planning on only inviting our close family and friends to the ceremony (which usually those are the only ones who show up anyway-especiially on an early Sun morning) and then inviting the full 160-175 to the reception. Now I see that on the invite you 'traditionally' name the ceremony location and then include a reception card. What am I going to do about the people who aren't going to fit in Coe Hall(actually the room can hold a lot more than 125 but its a fire code)? Has anyone had their ceremony there-do they count heads at the door? Or any suggestions for the invitations? Thanks

I dont know if they will actually do a head count.
WHy not have 2 sets of invites done up-one for the ceremony and one for the reception? If anyone questions you on how come there was no ceremony just explain to them that you really wanted an intimate ceremony

I think that is my only option-I guess I will print up 10-20 invites with just reception info and different wording. Is this really rude though, I didn't think so at first but now I am second guessing myself? I mean the only people I am planning to NOT invite to ceremony are work aquantances. Thanks for your reply!

i think just keep the invitation as normal.

If you're invited 170, i doubt 170 will come. Lets say 140 will come to the reception in all reality even much less will come to the ceremony.

Usually only family and close friends 'make the effort' to go to the most important part ESPECIALLY if its in the morning
