ceremony fee?

So on our contract it states the ceremony fee is 500, and we agreed to this when we first met with our BM. now they are saying that there is tax and service charge on top of the ceremony fee, making it 650. The ceremony is 30 minutes, how can they charge ths much for that? I understand they need to set up chairs and take them out but 150 for that?

Has anyone else done this?

Full Mass: $350 + $150 for Music.

My RH taxes and charges grat on the ceremony fee...I plan on bringing it up and throwing a fit about it at my final meeting. It's ridiculous!

im having just a ceremony at my church and it is $500 plus $75 for pre cana

This is how I feel!!! the thing that bothers me the most is, they NEVER mentioned that there is service charge on top of the fee. No where on the contract does it state that. How can they charge us an additional 150 for tax/grat without us ever being told?!

Church

400 for church

125 for organ

125 for singer...that we didn't use. I refused to pay this

Tips for organist and two alter servers

600 for church mass
200 for music (even if i wanted to hire my own music)
40 to alter boys

840 total - NUTS
