What if someone your close with performed the ceremony. Considering neither of you are overly religious, that would be a nice, and meaningful, way to personalize your ceremony. I wanted to do that since I'm Jewish and my fiance is Catholic, but we decided to go with a Rabbi amd Priest out of respect for our families. Also, instead of doing 'readings' have some of your close friends/family do personal readings that they either wrote themselves or a special poem about love. In my opinion, weddings don't have to be religious, but they should be spiritual and have special meaning.
I am having an interfaith wedding, performed but an interfaith reverend. I am Jewish, and Fh, is Catholic, but I love the idea of the unity candle and the roses that are to be given out to the mothers...We are writing our own vows, and basically designed our ceremony.
