Ceremony Ideas!!

What are some of the things you ladies are doing during your ceremony that represents you two becoming one??

Right now my FH and I have just agreed on writing our own vows..we are fresh out of ideas after that!!!

we said we'd do our own vows but i think i may just skip that... its too mushy for us and thats not how we are with one another...

so that aside, we're doin the sand ceremony and we're thankful that our officiant really makes the ceremony personal so that its 'us'

unity candle for us...parents will light the two candles that we will each take to light the unity candle

We are going to play untraditional ceremony music, rose ceremony, hand ceremony, writing our own vows and our officiant custom writes the ceremony just for us...so it will be very personal.

what is a rose ceremony and a hand ceremony? i'm doing the unity candle myself. but i'm up for new ideas.

Not a darn thing!! If it's too long or too emotional, I'll bawl my eyes out, so I'm going to go for the the standard and try to zone out so I don't cry . . . . as long as I say 'I do' and he does too, that's all I need and all can take!!

I cry watching wedding shows, every time, so there is no way I can put all the mushy stuff into our ceremony. I'll ruin my makeup, my dress, and the whole ceremony.

I'm totally with you on not doing anything! I'm such a baby-crier when it comes to weddings! Although, I think the FMIL is going to push for the unity candle...

We are doing this too.

ETA: Now I am not sure. See my BHB post. FH's mom might not be willing to do this...

weare doing a unity candel ceromony. We found someone through my space who designs them with any saying you want. we found one that was perfect for us

We are doing a unity candle with my daughter having her own candle symbolizing the 3 of us becoming a family(not that we aren't now but to make it official)

We are going to do the sand ceremony and write our own vows, do the untraditional music hopefully i will be able to get thru my vows... not sure how i am going to get it all out

What are the rose, hand, and sand ceremonys? I def want to have the unity candle and there is no way I could get through my own vows. I would will be too emotional. Any suggestions on where to get a good unity candle

I want my pastor to do the blessing of the hands (I believe that's what it's called). It's so beautiful and I think it will make FH cry.... te hehe

You ladies have changed my mind! At first I didn't want any special ceremonies, but all this talk about 'hand ceremonies' made me curious... Once I looked it up and read what they say, I was sold! I was tearing up just reading it! Just want to say thanks for helping me see the light
