i started my masters in the fall, so i made a few new friends since then, but not close enough to invite to the wedding... they all know im getting married and they always ask me how things are going... ive been wondering how i can invite them to the ceremony at the church but not the reception... should i make a little invite just for that or something??
TIA

Re: ceremony invitations?
Are your invites going to have the Reception info right on it, or are you having seperate reception cards. If the info isn't right on the invite than you should just be able to give them a regular invite without all the other cards. That is what my Mom did for her co-workers that she thought might want to come to the ceremony. Hope that makes sense.

Re: ceremony invitations?
That is such a nice thought... I would love to do this for some people. But in a close, personal way. One of my coworkers photocopied a flyer about her son's ceremony and left it in the main office!!

I think you can do it word of mouth if you really want to- but some people might be offended to receive an invite to only the ceremony- but thats just my opinion

Re: ceremony invitations?
I used a kit and printed my own invites so it made it simpler. but what I did to let people know the info for the church was to make a second set that used wedding announcement wording but in future tense: will be married on ( since announcements are usually done after) .
hope that makes sense. I figured using that wording you aren't asking for their presence and then not asking them to reception; you are telling them wedding will be and by giving this to them implying you'd like them to come. thought that might not offend anyone.
