Hello everyone! I'm getting married in December of 2006 and I have the reception taken care of, but....I dont know where I'm having the ceremony!!!!! My FH and I are not affiliated with any church and we would rather have a non-religious ceremony, but where on earth can you go in December in NY other than a church??? I need some help PLEASE!!!!!
Also, if worse comes to worse, we will get married in a church. He's catholic, I'm nothing, but I would become Catholic (my family is catholic too). But, the only concern is that we live in Florida but are having a long island wedding, so how would it work with pre-cana and stuff?? If anyone has any wisdom to share, that would be superb!!
THANKS!

Re: ceremony locations
Can you have your ceremony at the Watermill? They might haev an inside reception site. I am sure they can suggest officiants too.
FH and I found a cute church in Roslyn that's Presbyterian and the pastor performs interfaith ceremonies outside of the church, I'm not sure about at the church.
Good luck! That was one of my hardest things to get settled!

Re: ceremony locations
pre cana can be done at a local church to you in florida - i lie in boston and did pre cana up here instead of on LI
only one person has to be catholic to get married in a church - just have to say you will raise your kids catholic

Re: ceremony locations
You can have your ceremony at the Watermill, I went to look at it and there was a ceremony about to take place (although that was in the warmer months so it was outside). Since you are out of state and don't really want a religious ceremony, having it there will probably make things a lot easier on you.

Re: ceremony locations
We saw a couple of halls where they had the ceremony on premisis - even in December it can be done beautifully. Check with your hall, see where it would be done. Better to go early before a ceremony that is already set up to get an idea.
And as said before, there are many nondenominational chapels that could accommodate you. Shop around and find the one for you!
