Ceremony Locations
Can anyone suggest a breathtakingly beautiful ceremony site in suffolk county? I'm having the reception separate from the ceremony and I'm looking for the 'wow' factor to be from the ceremony. Thanks for your ideas.

there are tons of parks in suffolk that make good ceremony locations. i heard of a girl having hers at the bayard cutting arboretum in e. islip/great river. there are some beautiful locations on the n. shore (i.e. callahan's beach in ft. salonga , sound beach in shoreham & smithtown park in kings park near the old psych center) where you can get married on a bluff w/ a spectacular view of the sound. we are hoping to get married @ robert moses, and the wedding ceremonies i've attended there have been really beautiful. they also do weddings @ the fire island light house & the montauk lighthouse. you'd just have to work out a plan b w/ the rh just in case of nasty weather. they have that big mansion @ the arboretum, though i'm not sure if they'd let you do anything in there. a friend of mine got married on the campus of the knox school in st. james; she was the first to ever ask them, but they were happy for the site fee. you might be able to strike a deal like that w/ some of the local college campuses too (i.e. st. john's & dowling in oakdale are just lovely). hth!
