I'm getting around to booking someone and am wondering if anyone has recommendation they could provide for a string trio/quartet. I also have no idea what to expect as far as price. Anyone?

Re: Ceremony Music
After about 15 phone calls to different ensembles, (which you know is true if you read confessions of a planaholic!!)
Absolute Strings and Things--Len Hirsch 1-516-766-8131
all I can say is he gave the best price. $175 per musician, but he did say travel is taken into consideration with the price, and he is not traveling far to my church. He also has opinions about the fact that I want flute, cello and violin. He feels this is not a good combo with a church organ. Hes the musician,,,I am not.

Re: Ceremony Music
I used Sterling Muisc ensembles, I resaerched this, listened to a dozen demos and Sterlings BLEW the others away in my opinion! They were mid range in price, 200 per musician, and worth veery penny! They were amazing and they really should charge more..I LOVED them. Contact them, listen to their demo, it speaks for itself, they explain everything along the way, they are very professional, we had a flute trio ( flutem violin and cello) and it wsa BEAUTIFUL!!

Re: Ceremony Music
Stan Wiest, who is one of the preferred vendors on this website, has a couple of trios. He sent us a 30 minutes cd with recordings of all the different arrangements and trios (flute, harp, violin; flute, cello, violin; flute, cello, harp). The quality was excellent and Stan was very pleasant and professional. We didn't go with him because part of our band contract includes provision of trio at our ceremony.
Good Luck.

Stan is providing our string trio for the ceremony as well as the guitarist for our CH and the DJ for our reception.

Re: Ceremony Music
Nsgraham has www.gigmasters.com on her website. This is how I came in touch with Counterpoint. They are $125 per instrument.

Re: Ceremony Music
Julz, Does counterpoint send you a cd or do you just tell them what instruments you want and they show up the day of?

Re: Ceremony Music
We used the Island String Quartet (Ira Kocivar 631-689-9879). They charged me $480.

She is going to send me a demo. The girls name I am dealing with is Christina...she is one of the founders and she is very nice. Her email is [email protected] and her number is 631-404-8003
