Ceremony Music
My ceremony will be outdoors, and I`m going to need music. Does anyone know of where I can find maybe a violin and chello player that could play ceremony music at a reasonable price? Thanks for the help!

a way to cut costs...
my DJ is providing the ceremony music for us. We are also having our ceremony outside, but he says that they have speakers and it sounds good. We wanted to save $ here cuz the cocktail hr & reception music really is more important to us. So hopefully it will sound ok!! I just couldn't see spending hundreds of $ for musicians that will only play for 20 minutes!! And the prices I've seen have been in the hundreds...like $400-500!! So we put that money into a good steel band for our cocktail hr!! Yeah, they only play for 1 hr, but whatever.... :) Anyway, just something to think about for you...

Call Stony Brook University Music Dept...
Or Hoftstra or Dowling. They usually have a list of students that play for special events. They are usually at a good cost.

steel band....
they are subcontracted through my DJ. I don't know their name, but I will find out for you if you'd like. I've seen them though...this DJ has gone through our circuit of friends, and one of them hired this steel band. It was pretty cool...and since we are on the water and our cocktail hr is inside and out, we thought it would be a nice touch! Anyway, if you'd like to know, I can call my DJ.

bnjoyful...yes, please!
I would love to know who they are! Who are you using for your DJ, by the way? You can e-mail me at [email protected] when you have it. Thanks, and have fun!

encore music
I got her name from this site and she has many musicians that she organizes (any combination you want). For 2 hours (ceremony and cocktail hour) it is $250 per musician.
