My friend is an amazing singer/guitarist. He does a lot of different styles - mostly contemporary and rock. We have decided we would like him to sing at our ceremony and possibly the reception.
Here is the challenge. Every wedding I have been to has classical music playing or elegant orchestrations of contemporary music. So I am not sure how to do ceremony music to normal, everyday music? Does that make sense?
I keep going back and forth on the songs I want him to sing and when!
Our wedding party is REALLY small - MOH, BM, FG, RB, our 2 sons and... us! I know you usually have some song for the procession of the wedding party - and then a different one for the bride's entrance. I think this may draw it out unnecessarily unless the processional song is REALLY short!
Would it be awful to have him play a processional song that is the same for me as it is for the rest of the wedding party? Or would it be better to have one song for the procession of the wedding party and then a second song for me..? I don't like the 2nd idea only because it seems awkward. Whaddya think ladies?

Re: Ceremony Music
Depends where are you getting married?? In a Church?
They have certain rules about the music.

Re: Ceremony Music
Here's our ceremony music:
cue for guys to line up: I Finally Found Someone
bridesmaids walk in: ave maria
beautiful me walks in: at last
at the kiss/walk out: this will be [an everlasting love]
short of ave maria maybe, NOTHING traditional at all and EVERYONE loved it.
