Ceremony Music Advice Please

I'm getting married at a church at 10:30am....one of our GM plays the violin and will be playing in a String Quartet for us, he will not walk down aisle and play for when guests sit, my processional- then jump onto the GM line-up, then play for our recessional

The church offers an organist also....do I need them??

I really would rather NOT pay for both- lol GoTTA save my dough now a days! Also, my church is small/chapel like, so the quartet will def. be heard

hmm i guess it depends on what songs u want played and if a violin alone sounds good..have him play the song on the violin and if u n fh like it then leave out the orgsnist

just a question though..are u sure ur church 'donation' did not covr the organist..ours did

Re: Ceremony Music Advice Please

thanks for the response..i know I wanna hear them play- really only Canon in D

I don't have to donate, if I'm a member which I am (even though I haven't gone in years...)All I need to give is the pastor's (tip which is about 150) and a sextons fee of 150

the organist would be an fee of 300- luckily the Lord is not banging me over the head for a donation

so I have the choice of just 300, or w/ organist, 600...with the Quartet and no organist it would only be 525

wow..our church is fh's parish, and his mom teaches there and we still had to pay 500 bucks lol

i actually think canon n d with just the violin would sound really beautiful
