Ceremony Musicians

Does anyone have any suggestions for ceremony musicians? We just went to a church wedding that had a string quartet and it added such a nice atmosphere that we're thinking of having something like that as well. But it would need to be inexpensive (so maybe not a quarter). We'd only need them for an hour. Any recommendations are welcome! Thanks

We have hired a trio through our band company (Long Island Paramount). It is $700 for an hour. Maybe your DJ or band can recommend someone for you.

Ceremony Musicians

We're using a flute, violin, cello trio from Island Classical Ensembles. They come highly recommended and Andrea just used them. If I remember correctly, they're $500.00 for the 1st hour. We're paying $750.00 for 2 hours. Jordan Vogel is the director and his number is (631) 351-7521. Good luck!

try going through a music school like Julliard or the music school at stonybrook. They'll be much less expensive and the musicians are top notch. This question was asked earlier on this board too and I think Mark Kauffman listed a # for someone at the stonybrook school. Do a search on the board to find it. Good luck!

Julliard

Julliard would be a great choice, but they`d definitely be expensive. Students that attend Julliard are very talented, and they charge as such. Plus, most of the students live in NYC and would want to be compensated to travel out onto the Island. I would think a school on LI would be cheaper.

Harp

I am using Janet King for my ceremony music. She might be able to give you some info on string instrument players. She is in the services area, under ceremony music. I think getting a Jullard student would not be cheap or very easy. But StonyBrook might be a good way to go, or CW Post even.

We had a string trio - violin, viola and cello. They were excellent! They even played background music during our vows. The contact person is Jennifer Bersamin. Give her a call at 917-695-4477. Tell her Marijo recommended her. Our wedding was August 10th.

Musician - Cello

Hey there girls. If you're interested in a pretty cheap alternative for music for your ceremony, I have a friend who is a cellist and plays really well. She has done several weddings in the past and is always up for doing somemore on the weekends. If you're interested, please e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll put you guys in touch with her. Her name is Brantly. Good Luck! Vickfl77

Ceremony Musicians

I am having a string trio - 2 violins and 1 cello play for my hospitality, ceremony and cocktail hour. $750 total 2 hours. I went to Encore Music (516-489-4330)and she can set up almost anything you want and tells you what would best fit your needs. They have a video and offer lots of strolling muscians too. I contacted Elena Rojas about the Queens students and it was the same price b/c of travel time (my reception is in Suffolk)
