For those who are having your ceremony's on site...I am almost positive we'll have our ceremony at our reception hall. First, the grounds are beautiful and secondly, its much more convienient considering we are having a day wedding.
I am concerned that some of our family and guests might find it strange considering we are both catholic, and neither of us has been married before. Do most people have the ceremony on site for the reasons I stated or is it because one or both parties have been married before or are an interfaith couple?
Im starting to worry myself silly.

Re: Ceremony on Site?
I'm having it on site too! My hall is on the water and I always wanted an outdoor wedding! Plus it is more convenient.
FH and I are both Catholic too - but not strict Catholics (obviously). Neither of us have been married before.
ETA - at first it bothered his parents a bit, but they realize that this is what we want for OUR wedding day

Re: Ceremony on Site?
My FI and I really wanted an outdoor ceremony. While we are both Catholic (and neither of us have been married before), we decided that since our reception hall is on the water, we would love to have it outside and take advantage of the beautiful scenery.
I completely understand what you are feeling. I have had a couple of people make comments about the fact that we are not getting married in a church. Ultimately it is your day and you should do whatever will make the 2 of you happy!

Re: Ceremony on Site?
I am having mine on the site because we are getting married the day before Easter and NO catholic church will marry us then. We are not that religious anyway but when we get back to NC after the honeymoon we will go to a church and have a priest do a lil ceremony.

We are getting married at the reception hall. Both of us are catholic and neither of us has been married before. neither of us is very religious so we didn't feel comfortable having it in a church. we still plan on doing spiritual things in our ceremony. It's your wedding, do whatever is going to make you happy.

We are having it on site just because it is more convenient and we really want everyone to be there for our vows, not just the party b/c that is what the whole day is about!

Re: Ceremony on Site?
We are having ours at the reception site. Our religion doesn't require our wedding to be at any perticular place.

Re: Ceremony on Site?
I'm getting married on-site. My FH and I are both Catholic and it's the first marriage for both of us. I just think that it makes life so much easier getting married there.

We are getting maried on site mainly for convenience. It's our first marriage and we both faithfully go to church. Our pastor will be officiating.

All of my vendors get happy when I tell them it's on site. I also figured that it was easier for my guests. It's all up to you.

Re: Ceremony on Site?
I am having my ceremony on site as well.. We are both Catholic, but we both agreed not to have the ceremony in a church.. My family and his family have been supportive of our decision.. anyway, they really have no say since we are paying for the wedding ourselves
