So I was telling FH today that I've always wanted to walk down the aisle to 'Marry Me' by Train. I like that its not traditional and I absolutely love the song. He hates the idea. He said he'd just be laughing the entire time I walk down the aisle and he hates the idea of me walking down to something besides the traditional song.
Am I being ridiculous for wanting something different? Is it stupid?
Just need some reassurance.
Thank you!

I don't think it's silly to walk down to a nontraditional song, our friend walked down to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. I think I would've liked it better though if it was an instrumental version. Have you thought of compromising by finding an instrumental version?

I'm thinking about using this one too! It's really beautiful. There are a lot of songs that work great as instrumentals.

I originally wanted to walk down to Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and I got laughed at too. I don't know if I still plan on doing it but I love the idea of a nontraditional song and I also like the idea of lyrics. I think its more dramatic (although instrumental seems to be the popular vote). I say do it if you're really set on it.

I found an amazing guitarist who does a beautiful cover. I actually like it better than the original version!

I'm planning on non traditional songs to walk down the aisle to also. I've found sheet music on YouTube, and plan to give it to my pianist.
To be honest though, 'Marry Me' is one of those songs that girls think is romantic and sweet and guys see as ridiculous and silly. If I'd asked FH about that song, he'd probably say the same thing. Try showig him an instrumental version without telling him what song it is, and maybe he'll be more into it.
Otherwise there's a ton of no traditional songs you could walk down the aisle to. Just google it and you'll find a million lists.

I think this is a fair compromise.
