ceremony related

Fh and I were planning this whole time on getting married at majestic gardens (our rh). Now we're having second thoughts and want to get married in a church. I'm episcobal (sp??) (and never received my conformation), and he is Catholic. What kind of church would we go to? Is it too late to make this change? Help =[

Same with us. We both did our scarements though.

My church never asked either of us. They are a bit more leanent than Catholic churchs I think, so call a few Episcopal churchs

No problem my church is in Forest Hills if you need the info and we just began going to that one a few months ago. They are very understanding if you don't/can't attend every Sunday

I would go with an Episcopal Church. That church is very close to being catholic but doesnt have the same hoops to jump through. I am getting married in a catholic church and its a hassle with everything that has to be done.

You can still get married in the Catholic church just as long as one is Catholic it would just be a ceremony. Call both and go with your heart . good luck!

Yes, go with your heart.. don't go through with the sacraments if you don't feel like it... That's not the point of them.

You may not even be able to join a program to get confirmed now but you can definitely have a ceremony in church.

If it's more important to your FH as a Catholic you can try a Catholic church but they will probably want to see you around more. We started slowly by volunteering then registering. It's a habit now for Sundays... church then football.

Re: ceremony related

Where are you ordering your invites from? and when are you sending them out?

You should have time to talk to them the first week in January and still get invites printed and mailed to you by mid-March or so.

Re: ceremony related

Depends on the church.
My sister got married in a church and her husband was lutheran. When you do the FOCCUS test there is a section for interfaith couples. I think you have to agree to raise your children catholic.

I'm not confirmed but my church said this isnt a problem. My brother and sister both had to be confirmed in their church.

Call a couple churches and see what they say?

As far as Catholic Churches go, St. Anthony's is right down the street from Majestic and I think its nice. St Louis is in Sound Beach, its the church I grew up with but I can't see myself getting married there.

St Anselms is in Wading River which is close, I went to Preschool there but have no memory of what the church looks like.
