I need your help...we're getting married on a Friday night. I'd like to have the ceremony at 6:30p (ceremony is at reception site)...FH says 7:00p is better, giving people who have to work that day more time to get to the hall. I'm just worried about the light...and photos. And do these things ever really start on time???
Thanks!

Re: ceremony start time???
Well if you date is correct then the sun should be up for a little bit if you get married at 7...........your husband is right about people feeling rushed I think........do your guests have a big commute?

Re: ceremony start time???
why don't you take most of the photos before the ceremony...then you won't be rushed afterwards and you can go to your own cocktail hour.

Re: ceremony start time???
Our start time for our Friday night ceremony is 6:30. We are taking our photos before the ceremony, and finishing up anything we missed during cocktail hour. I want to enjoy as much of cocktail hour as possible.t

They do start on time at the reception halls because if they don't you're cutting into your CH and reception time - you only have the place for the 5 hrs + ceremony time total. I'd go with 7pm. Summer traffic on LI on a Friday can be awful, it's better to give as much time as possible. Plus, with a 7pm ceremony it'll probably be a 6:30 arrival.

7pm sounds good considering LI summer traffic.

Well I voted for 6:30 because that is what we are doing. We started with 7pm but worried about daylight and getting married outside. We are doing our pictures before but I still didn't want it to be dark for the ceremony. You are about a month before us so you might have a little more daylight.
