Ok...here's a big question. If I have my ceremony at 10:30 am, what time would I have to wake up to do makeup and all of that wedding day stuff? We might have a saturday day wedding, from 12-5.
I could save a lot of money that way, BUT I don't want to have to get up at 4am to do it!
I would have probably 3 or 4 girls in the wedding party... and the church is a 10 or 15 minute drive from my house.
Experts?

I don't think you'd have to get up at 4...maybe start getting ready at 6. Are you taking pics first? That would make a big difference...

Re: Ceremony time
Where would you be getting hair & makeup done? At your house? Will the girls all be getting hair & makeup at your house with you, or will they do their own makeup?
Their are alot of things to consider. Will you have 1 hair & makeup person?
My ceremony was at 2pm and I had 5 girls (including my Mom) who all did hair & makeup, with me at my moms and we started at 7 am.
Don't forget the photographer & possibly a videographer will be there early, as well as the florist etc.
So yes 4 am may be the time you have to get up
edited to say don't forget getting dressed, and having something to eat that am, it's important to eat SOMETHING

Re: Ceremony time
First, are you taking pics before? That adds 1-2 hours. Add 1 hour for flex time. I would think it would take about 1 hour per girl and 2 hours for you. My sis had 6 people and was in the hairdressers chair at 4AM for an 11 AM wedding. They wanted to take pics before but the hairdresser ran late. I am working backwards. I want to get up 7, I'm getting my hair done from 7-9, my sis and mom from 9-11, 1 hour for delays (11-12) 2 hours for pics 12-2, the ceremony is at 2.
If you are getting pics before, I would decide on a photographer to see how long it would take to take the pics- depends on the photographer and size of the bridal party.

Re: Ceremony time
We had to be ready at 9am and it was a tight schedule and I was up at 4:30! I started hair at 6. We were almost an hour late

Re: Ceremony time
Do hairdressers come to your home, or do you have to go to the salon? A hairdresser would really get up that early?
I am a total newbie and have no idea what I'm doing, obviously!
Thanks for your help!

Depends on the hairdresser. Some girls use their regular hairdresser, some use the vendors on here that specialize. You should ask your girls (if you don't care) if they are getting their hair done by their person or by yours. Also, you might want to find a person that works with someone else, to get 2 girls hair done at once.
