ceremony time in the invitation

are you putting a early time in your invitation for the ceremony if you are getting married in the RH... my family is hispanic and we are known for never arriving on time (anywhere!!) and in package they offer coffee and danish for anyone that arrive early... so what are you doing? and should I put 15 or 30 min before?

I think they did this at the wedding I went to 2 weeks ago. We got there at 12 on the dot. The ceremony didnt start until 12:30.
She put 12:00 on her invites.

i was worried about this, but at the same time i hate waiting for the ceremony to start - we put the true time....if we start late im not worried, RH ceremonies are pretty short

LOL!! FHs cuz just got married and it was far, so they had a cocktail reception a half hour before ceremony time (they were getting married at the RH) and honestly mostly everyone was there ... it was like a 1/2 hr buffer

yes yes and yes! i am upping the time by 30 minutes... my church is at 1pm, the invitation will say 12:30pm... i have been at weddings when the invite says the exact start time and people arrive late and the doors are creaking and heels are clip-clopping on the floor...

I had never even thought about this! But honestly, the only person I'm worried about being late is my mom...and she's bringing me there so I'll be cracking the whip!! I'm just going to put the actual ceremony start time.

what about 15 mins early instead of half hour? would that bother you?

I plan on putting the real time on my invites- I find it annoying when I plan to be somewhere on time and I have to sit around and wait for things to get started.

thanks girls... I think I am going to put 1/2 before because I am the only person that is always on time for every family event is like they dont get it, specially the family that is coming from DR they are not going to get that you pay a hall for a specific hrs not for the entire day

i agree. I put the correct time bc there are MANY ppl who come early. So lets say it starts at 2:30 and you put 2:00pm, then there will be those who get there 1:45 or even earlier bc MOST ppl realize that if ceremony starts at 2pm(at least they think) they need to get there, find parking and need to be in their seats by 2pm so they make sure they get there early and in their seats before anything starts. It s*cks for those who actually go out of their way and are respectful about being on time bc you make them wait a long time. My concern was more about those who would have the courtesy of being on time rather than working around those who are late. What i did was have the priest know you will start 10 mins late if you notice that not all guests are there, then just wait a few mins.

Its easy to to do this, it all is on you anyways lol.

Re: ceremony time in the invitation

I've been thinking about this too!! We're getting married at the RH and our ceremony starts at 6pm and sunset is at 6:04. Starting at sunset is pretty important to us so I was worried that if people aren't there yet we wouldn't start and then we miss the sunset. I haven't totally decided yet. I do agree with the girls that say that people will know to get their early but part of me is very tempted to put 5:45.

Only issue in my case is that there is a day wedding at our RH so the earliest people can get there is 5:30.
