I think an hour early is too much. You'll have the people who arrive on time coming an hour early, which is pretty insane.

I'm putting a half an hour early on some invites. Some people are getting the right time. We're making our own, so it'll be easy to do this.

Certain people on both sides are late to everything. Azzholes.

You have to plan for people coming to be on time for when you call it. I wouldn't call it for more than 30 minutes before you're going to start.

Could you imagine waiting more than an hour in the church beforehand for a wedding to start? If you put 2 pm, people will start to show up at 10 to 2... they'll be a little miffed when you don't start until 3.

If you put 2:30 people will start to show up a little after 2, which should be perfect timing to get everyone seated and quiet by 3.

I agree with the priest..

i know my family and friends well.. so if it was me, the priest in correct in my situation. an hr is perfect!

my photographer, planner and video guy told me to do the same... an hr is not too long if you know your audience...

WOW, I never thought of that! Personally, I would put the time that the ceremony really starts... if they're late, that's their problem... AND aren't you planning to make a fashionably late entrance anyway??

I put the right time. If people can't show up on time, that's their problem, not mine.

I think if you are going to put and time earlier I would put at most 1/2 hour earlier (so 2:30). I think if the invite said 2 and I showed up at exactly 2 and waited an hour for it to start, I'd be a little irked.

EDIT: I should also add that I don't think you should put down a diff. time. If people are late, they are late.

no way... that is way too much time... what if people show up at 1:45 for a 2 oclock ceremony... you cant have people sitting around for over an hour waiting.... i would say 2:30 at the earliest

i agree, people should learn to be on time, and with something like a wedding i would try and be there few mins early anyway

An hour early is too much. I'd be annoyed (to say the least) if I rushed to be on time for a wedding and found out that the wedding wasn't for another hour.

I mean 15 min is one thing.. an hour is wayyyyy to much.

You are absolutely right... What if people come at 1:45pm??--that would look sooooo bad! I already felt like 2pm was way to much time, but I feel more comfortable with 2:30pm....

Thanks Ladies

We are putting a half an hour. Most weddings I go to have that extra 1/2 hour--I never mind .
