My BM told me to put 7pm on my invites but I feel weird since the ceremony isn't starting until 7:30pm. Won't my guests be mad they have to sit around? They will be offered champagne while waiting. Should I put 7 or 7:30 on myinvites?

Re: Ceremony time on invitation
I put 15 min before the actual start time. It's a good idea just in case anyone is late, they won't miss your entire ceremony. Most will know the time is later than what the invite says.

Ceremony time on invitation
In hindsight i wish i put an earlier time, more then half our guests showed up after the scheduled start time which ended up delaying the ceremony. You will be fine, especially if they are serving them some champagne

I am going to put the actual time. I feel like adults should be able to be on time to a wedding.

Ceremony starts at 12:30 - I put 12:15. It gives 15 minutes for anyone that's late - but the ceremony will start at 12:30 no matter what!

I am putting the start time a half hour before, we have a hospitality hour with an open bar and passed hor devours. I figure some people show up early and some will be running late especially because we are getting married on a Friday night.

We put 15 minutes earlier than the expected start time. I really hope everyone shows up before I walk down the aisle!

Ppl in my world are always late so I am putting 1/2 hour before my ceremony start time. I don't think waiting around a bit is a big deal. 30 mins goes by quickly and ppl will most likely mingle or walk the grounds etc. Regardless though I will not be delaying my ceremony for ANYONE! My DOCs will be informed of this. No one gets in after we've started! lol

that's a great idea not letting anyone in after it's started! I remember when I was like 12 or 13 going to a wedding somewhere in Florida and walking in with my parents in the middle of it, EVERYONE turned around and tons of people gave my parents nasty looks lol.

My BM told me to put half an hour early too and I'm doing that. If people show up at 7 how can they be annoyed when they get to sit outside and drink champagne... it's not THAT bad

Re: Ceremony time on invitation
I put the actual start time. Most people will arrive about 15 min. earlier than the start time of the ceremony. So if you put a half hour before, that means some guests could be sitting there for 45 min. No matter what time you put, I'm sure someone will be late, its inevitable.

Honestly, as a guest, I'd be FURIOUS if I showed up at 6:45 and found out your ceremony began at 7:30 PM. The guests who want to be there will be there early and should NOT be penalized for the guests who may or may not arrive late.

Because I am majorly OCD I am putting that the ceremony starts promptly at 7:30 and stating champagne hospitality starts at 7...everyone invited knows ma and understands that is code for you better be there before 7:30 or you will be staring at the wrong side of the door at 7:31

This!!!! plus i feel like if i saw a 15 min interval printed on the invite, id know that it wasnt the real start time.
