ceremony traditions?

ceremony traditions?

so i'm jewish and my fiance is catholic...

for our ceremony we would like to incorporate aspects of both religions...

I know for sure I want the ketubah, breaking of the glass and seven blessings...

he has no idea what he wants from the catholic traditions and nor can i get him to focus on thinking about it...

are there any catholic wedding traditions akin to the jewish ones that people do?

i definitely don't want any bible readings

maybe a unity candle or unity wine ceremony?

I'd say a unity candle is your best bet. FH and I are interfaith (he is Presbyterian) and we are having a pretty Jewish ceremony...but we are also doing a sand ceremony (instead of a unity candle...he has full custody of FSD so we wanted to include her). If you want to incorporate a reading, choose one from Psalms which is important to both religions.

FH and I are both catholic but wanted a ceremony that was personalized to us, rather than religious. We are still doing a reading... but not a religious one. We are also having a Unity Wine Ceremony.

I think its a great mix of traditions and it is more centric to the both of you and your commitment to each other.
