I don't want to pay $100 for a guestbook platter. Does anyone know where I can get one cheaper? The only ones I saw were on wedding supply websites. Does anyone know of a local place? Or any other cheaper sites?

Re: Cermaic Guestbook Platter Cheap?
The process of firing it twice is going to be expensive...but you can do it in a cheaper way.
You can get a regular ceramic dish at any home store and buy these ceremic paint pens which work on already finished plates. I dont remember the brand but they are sold in craft stores. After the pens are used, you bake it in your own oven as per the directions and it supposed to stay on.
The one caveat is that its a little more delicate for the guests since they are working with paint instead of a pencil. (the unfired ceramic one can be changed before it gets fired so if there are mistakes, most of them can be fixed) but it should work.
