Cermony time

Cermony time

FH and I have a little dilema and I need an opinion. It's a bit of a story so please bear with me. We are having our reception at Flowerfield and our priest (who is a family friend) suggested that we get married out East near the reception site so it will be easier for our guests and so more people will attend the ceremony. We were approved to get married at St. Patrick's in Smithtown which is 10 minutes from Flowerfield. and will be having a ceremony and not a mass. We met with a priest from the church two days ago and the cermony times offered were 3:30 and 5:00. We are at odds as to which time to pick. I am getting ready at my parents house in Mineola (I really wanted to get ready there and not a hotel because friends of mine are coming to do hair and makeup and I just wanted to get ready at home). FH will be getting ready at his parents in East Meadow. I was thinking 3:30 because I figured traffic would be a little better (it is a Friday in August). But that would leave quite a bit of time between the church and reception which starts at 7. Our photos will only take an hour because we went with photojournalism and are only doing about an hours worth. I don't want our guests to have to wait too long, it defeats the purpose of getting married out there (FF will accept guests only up to an hour early). If I wait until five, people may not have to leave work as early but it cuts it really close to reception time and traffic will be a nightmare. I really just want to do what will be as conventient as possible for as many people as possible. Sorry so long, just a bit confused and would appreciate and opinions!

I would choose 5 since that will give you more time in the day to get ready, etc. Also, in regards to the people who work, its the summer and alot of people use flex days, get out early on fridays, and vacation days so you might not be inconveniencing as many people as you think.

Also, if a bulk of your family and friends are from Nassau, then traveling east on a Friday is going to s u c k no matter what time they leave. If you do 5, the gap between the church and CH wont be bad either.

I went with 3:30 because I like to air on the side of caution. I'd rather have too much time than not enough. Figure things will most likely be running late anways, you don't want to cut it too close to the reception. Good luck!
