FH and I LOVE mashed potato stations at CHs but I'm now starting to feel like it's a waste of a station and that it doesn't look fancy enough (we only get 3 total captained stations so it might seem empty)
My friends who have heard about the mashed potato station were very excited about it ... our families were not so excited.
What do you guys think?

I say yay! We had an Irish mixed grill station at our CH and guests loved it- it was very different.

YAYY! I'm not gonna lie- its one of the things I'm most looking forward at my wedding. Also, the people who I have told are thrilled by it (except, my aunt who thinks it's tacky. pshh, I want to smack her!)

it does sound cool...but i think an asian station would be cooler. that's totally just b/c i'm obsessed w/ asian food though...

I am having a mashed potato station!!!! We actually got rid of the asian station to have the potato station. We just thought it would go better with the rest of the food if that makes since!

We will be having 3 total stations: -- Mediterranean Station -- Asian Station *or* Pasta Station -- Mashed Potato Bar
if we don't do the mashed bar, we'll have both pasta and asian.

Some people have been excited about it, but I will say some people, like my brother and FH are like, why are we having mashed potatoes? But this could be because they don't like potatoes. Well, my brother didn't care about anything other than steak and cheesecake.
I would pick the potatoes over the pasta station.....two carbs, and you know how people feel about that.

my only hesitation is that mashed potatoes are less desirable in the heat and you're getting married in august. will your CH be outdoors at all? i can't imagine consuming hot starchy potatoes in the heat. but man they are delicious...
