The chairs at my wedding hall look like the kind you see at conferences. Do I pay the extra $3 a chair to cover them(around 130 chairs) or just leave them? Has anyone ever noticed the chairs???

Re: Chair covers???
I have the same issue! I can get the 'nicer' chairs for $8 per chair...get the covers for $3 per chair...or just leave the not so nice chairs. With about 200 chairs, I don't know if it's worth it or not!!

Re: Chair covers???
Everyone keeps telling me that I should be happy with my chairs--they're the gold ballroom 'chevari' chairs, the kind that look sort of like bamboo--and I agree that they could be worse, but I still NEED to cover them. I think it creates a more elegant, unified look. So now I need to find an extra $3-8 somewhere. I've got to go check those couch cushions again

Im not happy with our chairs either, they are a mauve like pink , BUT I cant afford to pay $3 a chair so I'm leaving them...I cannot remember what a chair ever looked like at any wedding I've been to, so I'm going with that to make me happy!

you can always negotiate the price on the chair covers. Our hall gave them too us for free after much negotiation. I didn't like the chairs without them.

Re: Chair covers???
When I saw my hall yesterday, they had chair covers. They showed me what the chair looks like without a cover...it blends in nicely with the room.

Re: Chair covers???
Oh i would if i knew my chairs werent so nice without covers.....all the places i went to that was the first thing i cheched cause i want my guests to be confortable and I think seeing a pink fake leather covered chair (for example) can ruin the overall feel of the room
If you cant negotiate anything, what about getting bows or something to tie on the back to dress them up a little? It will probably cost less than the covers.

Re: Chair covers???
I love chair covers... i think they really make a difference if you dont like the chairs It all depends on the look you are going with....chair covers present a more formal look
in our case it is a flatfee of $500 for chair covers but to match the look it is $750 for the table linens

Yeah! Finally another Bride from USMMA- I was there on Saturday and the chairs are really ugly. I asked about chair covers and he kind of dismissed it and said it would be 3 dollars a chair. I love our hall and you can't beat the price but its a little threadbare- needs new carpets, etc. I am going to talk to him about the chair covers and try to negotiate for them. When did you book?Did you go over the menu with him yet???

We are paying a flat fee for the chair covers. $450 regardless of how many we have.

Our hall threw them in for free. I agree about negotiating. Its not like you get to keep them! they are going to wash them and reuse them a million times after you! why should you have to spend $3 a chair?!?! arent we paying enough for the food?!?!?!?!!?!?

I LOVE chair covers. If they are in budget, I would do it. I always thought i would get them too, but I actually like my cahirs! I may do organza sashes instead, just to dress them up a bit!

Re: Chair covers???
I tried to negotiate but this guy is tough. Very aburpt on the phone. I added them anyway. The room really needs them. He tried to tell me 3 a chair was cheap- the labor, dry-cleaning, etc and that he is uping the cost next year since he is losing money on them!

Re: Chair covers???
$3 a chair really isn't that bad. I'm sure it's not what it actually costs them, mind you, but it's not a bad quote. One florist quoted me $11, mine quoted me $8 and the absolute cheapest I've been able to find is $5. I say take it and don't look back!
