Would it be cheaper to rent chair covers from a third party than to have the RH provide them?
I think the RH prices are pretty expensive... Then again, I don't know what third party vendors charge...
Anyone done this before?
Do halls generally allow this? (Guess I should ask)

I used Donna from Table Wear. She was awesome - so nice and the chairs looked incredible.
She charged $3 for the cover, $1 for the sash (any color I think) and $1 to set-up/take-down - for a total of $5 per chair. This was A LOT cheaper than my hall was charging. The place looked amazing and we had no problems with her setting up and taking down.

$5 per chair is what I was quoted by several RHs. I don't recall what my hall charges, though, b/c I'm not having chair covers.

I am using The Finishing Touch for chair covers and she's charging me $5 per chair as well. I don't know what RH charge, mine doesn't offer them.
