So, I have yet to see my RH because it is currently being renovated since we booked right after they had bought it. It was Louis XVI which was a french restaurant. Anyway, I went to the Lombardi's expo on Wednesday and asked them about the hall and they told me I can see it next week (so excited!) but they had also informed me that they are keeping the chairs in the reception hall that I ABSOLUTELY hate! They are PINK! Pink like, velvet chairs! They told me they will be alternating nice chairs with the pink ones or that my option is to add chair covers which is over another 1k. Here is where I need advice, do you think I should just suck it up, and hope that by next year, they will realize that their new beautiful hall looks horrible with these tacky chairs, or should I just add on the chair covers? FH thinks I am crazy because it will be dark by the time we go into the actual room and no one will notice the color. UGHH!
TIA!

Re: Chair covers
it seems like such a small thing, but i totally know where you're coming from-chairs were really important to me too--do you have the budget for the covers? if so i would say to do them

Re: Chair covers
you said they will be alternating nice chairs with the current pink ones. do you mean your room will have two different chairs in it?? also is the $1K the price the hall said?? can you bring in an outside company, maybe they will be cheaper?

Re: Chair covers
I'm really picky, so for me I would go with the chair covers if you really like them. Most of the places I went to the chairs were really ugly and one of thr first questions I asked was if chair covers were included. The RH we ended up booking at originally said they did not include the covers or bows but then ended up including them otherwise it probably would have ended up being around the price of yours. I say go for it or look into an outside vendor doing it for you though it will probably end up being around the same price.

ita agree about the outside company if you can do it..you can get chair covers for like $1 each. I do not think you are being crazy..i would not want pink chairs and i think alternating chairs would look even weirder

Re: Chair covers
I think chairs are a huge part of the room's decor! Definitely look into outside vendors to rent from and set up the chair covers, it will be so much cheaper! IMO, that is something I would spend money on, so I think you should go for it!

Re: Chair covers
to be real honest with u. i don't like chair covers. people can trip on them. to me they r a pain in the butt. in my rh u have to have them, and im not to happy about that. but if u can afford them then do it but if not they r only chairs.

Re: Chair covers
Thanks ladies! I am going to look into outside companies and see if I can get them cheaper if the pink and gold chairs are definitely staying! We can definitely fit them into our budget if I can find them cheaper. I am not happy about chair covers either because they don't really go with the look of the room I wanted or was expecting, but the pink or alternating chairs just aren't okay with me. It's totally weird that they mentioned alternating them right? I am sitting here picturing how ugly and weird that would look and its just not sitting right with me. It just urks me that they would keep them and expect us to pay for chair covers!

Re: Chair covers
All the halls I had looked at before we booked did not supply chair covers for us..everything cost extra. Dont forget, the chair cover may only cost $1-$2 but then you need the sash to help keep the chair cover on can be $2-$4 itself...
I was at a wedding that had chair covers not too long ago, and to be honest, i hated them...They were way too long, didnt fit right and just made the whole ambiance at the table seem a bit sloppy and crowded (imagine your feet gettng caught in the chair cover everytime you go to get up for something!!) BC of this experience i do not want chair covers at my wedding and i hate seeing them at other weddings now. (n/o to anyone who has chair covers, its just not my thing)

Re: Chair covers
I know exactly what your talking about. Sometmes the covers look like sheets and very sloppy! I really don't want them either but the other chairs are just so hideous! I don't know what else to do. I am going to talk to the hall once I see the place and make sure there is really nothing they can do.

Re: Chair covers
I would look into outside vendors, and if not see if you can bargain with the RH. If it's in your budget, def go with the chair covers.
