Chair Covers or no chair covers?

Chair Covers or no chair covers?

ok.....so, we're getting married at the Estate at East Winds. And, recently, Fh and I visited the room to see how it looks when it is all decorated for christmas. When we walked in, the chair covers were set up--and they looked so formal and beautifully elegant. They are ivory with an ivory sash. As soon as I saw them, I totally wanted 'em..

BUT----they cost 1,000 extra. We can do it---but, is it worth it? What do you ladies think? Is there a big difference?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Ten days to go!

what do the chairs in the RH look like. SOme have nice chairs but some places have hideous chairs. BUt if the chairs are nice and you wouldn't mind them and would rather save the money then dont get the chair covers. But if its something you really want and in your budget then go for it.

I had chair covers but the hall threw it in for free, I dont know what I would've done if they hadn't but never even thought about it. IF the chairs were ugly i guess i would've

Save the money and use it on your Honeymoon. Honestly no will really notice but if you feel the chairs are extremely ugly shop around and see if you can get them for cheaper.

OK! Thanks ladies! the chairs are not hideous...they are nice....the chair covers just give more of a formal, elegant, 'christmasy' feel. But, using the money on our honeymoon is a really great idea.

1000 is high for chair covers. I had chair covers, I loved them, but they were about 3 or 400, don't remember exactly, but It was I think $3 per chair -- so it was probably close to 400.

Hi my love!!!

I really think you should save the money and use it towards something else. Yes they were beautiful but the room will be dimmed and the chairs were in very good condition and kind of 'match' the room. Plus it has red and green which goes with your xmas theme

yay its so soonnnnnnnn

I had at option at my place to get them but we needed the money to put towards vendors, tips etc.
Even when we wanted to book at EW, we had decided against it to begin with. I dont think people are going to look back and be like 'omg i cant believe her chairs werent covered' lol i promise the room will look GORGEOUS even without them
yiou're going to be so busy you wont even realize anyway

Have you tried to get the RH to throw them in for you? Alot of RHs are willing to throw in chair covers for free...

I would put the 1,000 towards the HM or vendor tips. I know they transform a room, but honestly as a guest, sometimes I don't like sitting on them....they get trapped under the legs of the chair, your dress rides up. I even went to a wedding once where they had beautful white chair covers and when I got up, I had chair lint all over the back of my black dress!

oh wow that is a expensive for chair covers! but if you really like them covered better than i would go for it, if you can afford that extra amount for this! its your wedding and if you can do it i say go for it! =] i am actually having my chairs covered with a bow/sash around with the color of the BM dresses but they arent charing us that much! i guess maybe its cause its a company that works for and with the RH they gave us a deal?? i love with the chairs are covered, it makes it look very formal and pretty and it gives a uique look to it especially if your doing it in the colors of your wedding scheme! =]

Re: Chair Covers or no chair covers?

yeah 1000 is a bit too much for chair covers! if you really want them and dont want to spend that money i think you should try to bargain with them and see if they leave it for cheaper or even throw it in for free since your only days away and sometimes they do that and dont even care anymore when its at the end and close to the wedding day.. our RH actually wanted to charge us 500 for them than after bargaining with him and getting other extra things they said theyd give it to us for 400 so we just left it at that! =]

OMG 1,000 for chair covers?? Wow, that's outrageous... Is there anyway you can bargain with them and have them bring it down?

Please tell me they quoted you 1,000 because you're having like 700 chairs at your reception lol

We had covers, but only because they were thrown in free.... I agree with the others, if the chairs look nice on their own, you can def use the $ towards something more useful.... nobody even notices the chairs, people will be dancing, drinking and having a good time lol

Depend what the chairs look like. If the chairs are beautiful then totally not worth it but if you are not happy with the chairs go for it.

It really depends how the chairs, and what you cant afford, but I would bargain with them.
