I had no idea what champagne splits were, so I looked 'em up on Google and found this:

I think they'd be expensive. But how cool!!!

well what is it? I cannot tell from the pic!

Re: champagne splits??

Instead of having a glass of champagne, each guest would get a 'split' which is a single-serving sized bottle. Just a tiny bottle of champagne. I can't see them being any cheaper than $5 apiece - the ones I'm seeing online are twice as much as that.

I am actually thinking of giving that out as a favor along with cupcakes for my e-party but not sure yet. Some sites are more than that but another alternative would be white whine, you can get some good prices on the mini-bottles or even if you use a different type of champagne.

Thanks, I was planning on doing the tiered cupcake thing for the e-party but we decided to go with their cake so I figured i should still get cupcakes but give them as favors.

Re: champagne splits??

well my mom had them at her wedding 30 years ago and they were only like 50cents a bottle...lol granted that was a long time ago.. but if you go to your local liquor store they sell them cheaper.. were going to do it as a favor as long as they're not 5 a piece!

Megs - if I dont do chapstick (wow, when I hear myself say that it makes me realize that its really cheesy.... ) I would do the splits!!!

Wait, so they're $5 a split!? You could probably get an entire BOTTLE of champagne for that price if you buy it wholesale!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats ABSURD. Looks like I'll stick to chapstick.

Re: champagne splits??

thats what i said.. i dont understand why a mini bottle would be more then a big bottle... so im going to hit the liquor store tomorrow and get a price! ill let u know what i get

Re: champagne splits??

Yeah - find out how much they charge for bulk/a case. Actually I don't know how they sell champagen in large quantities - would it be a case?! Who knows!

Let me know though.... I'm curious. I mean, I've bought some crappy Cooks Champagne for $6 a bottle (a big bottle!).

I don't need to give cristal out to my guests.

Ooooh! Look what I found. You can get mini bottles of raspberry champagne for $3 a bottle!! And if you want you can personalize the label (although that tacks on another $2)
