Chances of getting pregnant...

I just started using an OPK... well, it tells you the best 2 days to get pregnant. Now, are those really the only days that you'll get pregnant, or are there other days? Of course we'll just do it, just to do it, but on those fertile days, I REALLY want to do it. Also, does doing it several times on those days hurt your chances of getting pregnant? (I heard that somewhere)

The suggestion is to have intercourse every other day for 5 days before your predicted ovulation day and few days after.

You can't just get pregnant on any day. Sperm can live up to 5 days if you are fertile. But only a short time if you are not fertile. I suggest reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It really explains answers to all of your questions.

If your DH's sperm count is low, that's really the only time that it suggested that you DON'T do it every day. I agree with the every other day thing during your mid cycle. I really think you should get the book and start chekcing cervical fluid, that will tell you how fertile you are. Remeber that you want to DTD just before you ovulate, since you want the sperm waiting for the egg.

My Dr. told me to have sex every other day between day 10 & 22 of your cycle. I believe its every other day so the sperm count has a chance to build up again. Of course, this is just want my Dr. recommends to someone who is in the thought process of TTC! I'm sure it will change if you have been trying for a few months with no luck.
