Changed my wedding date

we decided today to change our wedding date ,
push it back a year and have more time to plan it out and have it in a hall ,
so on the 19th of June(original wedding date) my parents are goona just have an engagment party for us

i think this is the best thing

thats sad that you pushed it back but you did it for the right reason...

We wanted a wedding in a year but $$$$ talks and well, we didn't have any

You get to plan more now over time which is good. I'm sad that we are almost done planning

I agree, and congratulations! We needed 2 years to save and plan.. and it goes so fast anyway!! now you get to start looking at halls!

lenny just called to tell me this, I am sorry, I know you were looking forward to it, but its more time for us to hang out and plan together, and it gives you something to look forward to.

yea i feel so good about this decision
i think this is goona be a really good thing
now i just have to pick a hall ...and guess what

now i have soo much time to do everything i need to do

and theres alot i already have accomplished
so for now the pressure is off

and i still have our engagement party to look forward to so now when the date comes and goes i wont be too sad about the decision of pushing our wedding back ..
who knew that deciding not to have an engagement party when we first got engaged would end up working out better.

You already booked a hall right? Did you lose your deposit? or do you have to see if somone picks up that day to get it back?

I entirely understand pushing your date back a year. FH and I did that. We originally booked Jan 2004 - after a month we realized we didnt have enough time to book and changed the date to Jan 2005.

Congrats on your decision - you are now a 2005 bride!!

ETA: What date are you looking toward now?

no i didnt book a hall
the origanal plan was to have it at my parents house out east but the closer it came the more doubts i had soo we were goona just rent out a hall and do our own thing ....
so we didnt lose any money or anything

somewhere with an option of the whole outdoor thing though

I think then this was a good idea for you to take another year u will be so much more happy that u did that!! Enjoy this time now instead of feeling rushed to settle on something that u weren't happy with!! Good job!!

Congrats........it will be gorgeous no matter when it is.

ETA - I moved my wedding date every which way. First was 9-03 then i pushed it back to 3-05, then I pushed it to 9-04, my current date. You should defintely do what makes you comfortble.
