If you continue to take the 'real' pills, not the sugar ones you can almost stop AF from coming at all. I did this for my wedding and HM. Talk to your doctor.

My brother (who is an ob/gyn) told me you just skip the sugar pills and start a new pack instead. Call your doctor, though.

I skipped my sugar pills, started a new pack, went back and took the sugar pills and then started another new pack. I had no problems and changed mine so that it's no where's near my wedding.

i posted on the other thread too! i skipped the placebo pills last year for a vacation. i was fine the week of the vacation, but a week later i got my period for 15 straight days two times in my life i have skipped my period like that, and i always get my period for 2 weeks after. everybody's body is different, so just give yourself plenty of time to straighten back out!!

What type of pills are you on? If they are tri-phasic like ortho tri-cyclin, than just skipping the sugar pills wont work. I have tried that before when i was on those pills, but that didnt work. However, if you are on ortho tri cyclin, than you can get an extra pack of pills that you are going to throw away, and take the last week of pills from that pack (the dark blue ones) and that will do the trick. (my instructor the ob/gyn nurse practictioner told me to do that).
If you are on pills with the same amount of hormone all month, than skipping the pills should work. If you are not sure, call your dr. and find out. Hope this helps.

I know some people do it over a long time... for instance... over 7 months you can change your period by 7 days just by skipping the last pill in your pack once a month (or starting the pills a day earlier each month and skipping a sugar pill). This would move your period up a day each month.

Keep in mind that if you need the security of being a 'Sunday starter' than this will mess that up...

As the other girls said... just ask your doc! He/she will have an idea that will work well for your particular type of pill. People do it all the time, they are used to it.

Almost what mims is saying will work, but I wouldnt miss any pills, you dont want any suprises ! What you can do thats similar to what she says, is you can just start your new pack immediatly, you may bleed, but now you are going to get your period a week earlier. I am sure that your doctor can figure it out!
