ok, i LOVE the hall that i booked, but i think it's a bit too much money. what happens if i want to cancel? will they keep my $1500.00 that i put down already? my wedding is still a little over a year away, so they'll still have time to book the room.

Re: changing halls????
most of them will not return your deposit - i dont know what your min. is and how much youre paying. but if you can find a hall that will save you lots of money, then take the loss??

Re: changing halls????
I just read on here that there is a law in Suffolk County (probably in other places too), that they have to refund all but 100 if you cancel over 6months in advance. Do a search for more info.

well fh and i took a break and i tried to cancel the hall but they wanted to keep my whole deposit which was 5000..luckily fh and i worked things out and we kept the hall..i think in the contract most places won't give you back your deposit..doesn't hurt to ask though..maybe you can move the date to 'off season' so that the per person price is cheaper..talk to your hall about it.
