Changing my name of my Passport

How do I go about changing my name on my passport? I think I just have to fill something out and mail everything in. Does anyone know how long it takes to get it back?

I haven't done that yet ... ... but I think you need to send them an original marriage certificate. I've been to lazy to request another one!

You might be able to do all that at the Post Office.I'm not sure.

Re: Changing my name of my Passport

I was told you can do it at the post office. I need to go myself....I keep delaying it but I think my original one expires in May, so def. before that.

The form I used to get my passport changed was:

LINK to Passport Form

The form has lots of instructions on the second page.

Re: Changing my name of my Passport

You can get the form at the post office and I think you can even download it. You send the form, your recent passport, and your marriage certificate. It's free and it took me less than two weeks.

Funny, all they do is type a little note in the back that your name changed. I could have done it myself and it would have looked the same.

Thanks so much for your help. Glad to know that it doesn't take long. I need it for a Vacation to Cancun in March!!

Re: Changing my name of my Passport

I was told to keep it in my maidan name until it expired...then book international tickets in my maidan name...or you have to carry around marriage certificate...and in some countries you might have problems...

My pp expires next may anyway so I will leave it until then
