Changing time of cocktail hour?

Changing time of cocktail hour?

Has anyone here tried to change the time that their cocktail hour began? Currently my church is at 1:30 and cocktail hour is at 7. Obviously I was in lala land when I booked the venue and now I want to have cocktail hour start earlier. Do you think the venue is going to have a problem with it?

I think it depends on if there are other events in the venue or an event before yours. Like an afternoon wedding. They need time to turn over the rooms if so. But if you're doing a Friday night and it's one wedding at a time, then I don't see why they wouldn't let you change it.

It's the Sunday before Labor Day. I emailed my coordinator at the venue and I'm just waiting to hear back from her. Fingers crossed that they let me have my cocktail hour at 6!

Our church is 2:45 (putting 2:30) on the invitation and cocktail hour 8:30 (reception hall said put 8 on invitation). We are in the same situation as you! I wasn't going to do pictures inbetween but now I am. Also, many people don't come to the church just close family members. It's a Saturday night too, so it's fine.

It probably wouldn't be an issue, he only thing is say you should keep in mind is the earlier you start the earlier the reception will end., if that matters to you.

MY FH and I went through something similar. Our ceremony is taking place at our venue and we were tryin got see if we could bump everything up by an hour. Unfortunately, the only time available would be for a 4 o'clock and we did not want to have that early of a ceremony/reception so we kept as is.
