Maybe because today is my one year mark and this will be my new anniversary, but does anyone else get a little sad that they won't have their original anniversary anymore?
It would have been great to get married on our anniversary, but it didn't line up right....maybe I am just being overly emotional since I hit the one year mark?

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
Yea I agree! It's weird to think today will be our anniversary....but I know a lot of couples who do continue to celebrate their other anniversary! It can still be a special day!

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
I don't think I'll ever get away from at least acknowledging our date-iversary. It's a special day, just like our wedding anniversary will be.
The one thing I won't miss is celebrating right after Christmas and New Years and it will always fall on a playoff weekend in football.

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
I know..I wish I could have had my anniversary on my wedding anniversary. I tired, but the room I fell in love with was booked on the date.

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
I agree that it's a little strange. I think we'll probably acknowledge the day we started dating once we're married...at least for awhile!

I think that we will still celebrate the first date anniversary.. how can you not think about the day that you both met?

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
I think it will be weird not having our dating anniversary. I thought about using it, but we didn't want to get married in March.

I'm glad that we are getting married on our anniversary so nothing has to change. If not I would still celebrate both.

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
I think you don't have to totally let go of your old anniversary!! especially if its a nice distance from the wedding date, I think its totally appropriate to have 2 dates a year where you make special time for eachother.
My parents still celebrate the day they met each year! They used to go back to the bar where they met, but it closed down a few years ago.
FH and I met at Jones Beach and we go down and talk the same walk around our anniversary every year. I plan to keep that tradition.
But I'm excited to add a new anniverary!

I think we'll continue to celebrate our dating anniversary. It'll be just as special because it's what brought us to our wedding anniversary.

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
We actually got engaged on our 4yr 'dating' anniversary so when we're married, we'll do something small to celebrate the day.

Re: Changing Your Anniversary
We wouldn't choose our anniversary date because it's in late December, and we're spring people. But despite this, we will still celebrate both dates.
