For girls who are changing their names...FH and I have a trip booked (in my maiden name) for 3 months after the wedding, and my passport is in my maiden name. Do they allow you to change your name like 6 months after the wedding? Or do you have to change it right away?

Re: Changing your name
you can change your name whenever you want, there are no time restrictions on it. I'm pretty sure they will not check your passport against a drivers license, so if you want to start the process go for it, just do not change your passport.

Re: Changing your name
I wouldn't change it until after the trip. Way too much room for confusion. Especially now that the airlines and government start checking logs- what if you change your Social Security and license, and not your passport? Normally, I don't think it would matter, but now with all the changes it might!

You can put it off for a long while LOL
some people never change their names.
leave your name alone if your tickets are in your maiden name.
they will check your license against your passport.
my HM tickets are in my maiden name, and so is my passport and so is my license
after the HM I will change them.

Re: Changing your name
If there is any question bring a copy of your marriage license with you when you go away. A friend of mine did that and she didn't have any problems.
