Do most makeup artists charge for a retrial of makeup after you booked them? I was unsure about the eye makeup the day of the trial & now, looking at pictures, I hate it! The other make up she did looks great.

Re: Charge $ for a retrial?
I'm assuming that yes, you would have to pay for another trial. If there is something you like better maybe on the day of you can just let your makeup person know.

I have the same exact situation, I'm planning on calling my MU person today for another trial to try another look BUT I don't want to pay the same amount I paid for the origional trial. It totally depends on the person and how they do business. I'll be pissed if she charges me the same price!

Re: Charge $ for a retrial?
I just received an e-mail from the girl I booked for makeup & she is going to charge me the same amount for a retrial! The day she did my makeup I expressed that I didn't like the eye makeup, so she added a little brown to one eye, which looked worse! They had another apt. to go to so she couldn't stay longer. If she is going to charge me the same amount, I am going to go to a trial with another artist. I called Jacqueline Marie but she is booked the day of my wedding. Any ideas who I should use? I'm looking for a more natural & pretty, than overly done.

I think it's pretty normal for them to charge you the full price for each trial.

Re: Charge $ for a retrial?
My artist said she wouldn't charge me if I wanted to do a traditional trial if I didn't like the way the airbrush settled the rest of the day. But if I just wanted another color palette, I'm sure that rule wouldn't apply.

Honestly if you weren't happy how the makeup looked i wouldn't book them. I went for a trial where the foundation was great but she just couldnt get the eye makeup right and I found someone who I liked better.

Re: Charge $ for a retrial?
I think most charge full price for a retrial. They are running a business, and they are charging for use of their time and use of supplies.
But I agree with pp...if you didn't like the trial, I would look elsewhere.

Yes, mine said that she could come a little earlier instead and work with me that day to get it right so I wouldn't have to pay again.
