We would like to make a donation to a health organization as the favor. Every time I read a post it says that they have made the donation in memory of_____. I do not know any one who has passed from an illness (Thank God), but my mother has Multiple Sclerosis and one of my friends was just diagnosed with Leukemia. Is this donation/charity in memory of someone who has passed?

Re: Charities? in memory of _______
donations don't have to be just for someone who has passed away....we gave to the lance armstrong cancer foundation b/c my dad is a cancer survivor, my aunt has cancer, dhs uncle is a cancer survivor, both of our grandpas passed from cancer... we put ' to honor our loved ones who have been affected by cancer, a donation has been made....' if you use 'honor', that would be for people still living, and also becasue cancer affects everyone in the persons life, i liked the phrasing of ' affected by'... hope that helps!
