Anyone been here for BM dresses? What has everyone's experience been? They are really close to my FILs' house, so it would be super convenient if we could go there. Thanks!

Re: Charmet on Bell Blvd
I went to the location in Bay Ridge (Brooklyn.) I had a positive experience, however, they are a little pricey and their selection is minimal.

Re: Charmet on Bell Blvd
I have bought 3 BM dresses from there and if I didn't have BM all over the country I would have used them. They were wonderful every time I've been there. The prices are decent and alterations were included. The sales people and seamstresses are really nice. I live in Farmingville and they were very patient with me when I ended up being late due to traffic to each of my fittings the last time I was BM.
I have heard nothing but good things about Charmet in Bayside. I am even considering bringing my bridal gown there for alterations. Their gowns seem to be fair priced and alts are usually included. They are def worth checking out!

Re: Charmet on Bell Blvd
I ordered my gown from them and they've been great so far. One of BM used them when she was a MOH for her sister. They did all 4 BM dresses and the brides gown - with difficult 'shapes & sizes' for the girls and they were great!
Plus! They normally don't do alterations during peak season if you don't order from them but my 2 local BMs had a nightmare with the store we got them at & Charmet agreed to do their alterations. So far they've repaired the damage done by the previous store (crooked side seams & top hems for the strappless neckline!!, ripped out hooks & replaced zippers to name a few) and they capped all the work to fix & correctly alter at $60pp
They have very few bridal gowns there & an ok selection of BM dresses. The prices were pretty fair though (incl. alt.) and they can order anything. Ok...I guess it's obvious - we love them!
ETA...spelling..mine is soo bad

I went there one day just to try on BM dresses with my sister and the people there were really nice. Only reason why we didnt use them is because it wasnt convenient for everyone else.

Re: Charmet on Bell Blvd
I despise this store! I've gone there for years, my prom dress, my sister's wedding dress, BM dresses.... the old ladies are so rude!
The one saving grace is the seamstress, her name is escaping me at the moment (it is something Italian), she is fabulous and very sweet. But I would never do business with this place again. Last time I was there I wanted to physically fight one of the miserable old bags that work there.

Well I have had nothing but great experiences with them. My girlfriend got her bridesmaids' dresses there last year and they were great to deal with. And I've been there looking for my own bridesmaids' dresses. I think they have a ton of dresses and since they never seem to be that busy they were super helpful. I also think their prices are pretty good. Alterations are included in the dress price which I like.
