Thats the problem with this site. When people legitimately ask for an 'opinion' on something... sometimes they expect everybody to be in complete agreement.

I can't even count how many times when my FW reads the boards here.... she will notice a post where somebody asks for an 'opinion on something'.... it seems like people are afraid to actually go against the norm and say they DON'T like something in fear of upsetting somebody.

My FW actually once said, 'There ain't no way in hell everybody likes everything on this site'.

And frankly she is right cause I am just as guilty.

But then again... my FW is probably just as blunt... if not more blunt than I am.

I have withheld quite a few posts because I didn't agree or liked something or what somebody said.... just to avoid the huge flame war that I am sure would follow.


Morale of the story.... if you post a vent... or post something asking for opinions... don't expect everyone to agree with you 100%.

I have no clue what happened either... but I can probably figure it out just from past experiences.


Possible abridged version:

Person A posts something asking for opinions. Person B gives *blunt* opinion (probably in disagreement). Person A cries foul and gets upset.

Then again.... I could be completely wrong as well (which wouldn't be the first time).

thats why I NEVER put 'opnions please' or anything in my post..so I can turn around and say 'who asked you anyway....'

Seriously though, what happens is we are all for the most part planning our weddings or just under normal everyday stress and when people post a lot of 'vents' you are gonna get people who disagree because they dont see things as seriously as you...Its happened to me and I've done it myself...You have to take things in stride and not let other peoples opinions bother you......

If you feel you cant, then you really shouldnt post vents or ask for opinions because your never gonna hear just want you want to hear ya know???

Someone didn't like an opinion..
I am sorry but if you are going to ask for an opinion..that is what you are going to get..BUT there is a tactful way of saying things
but again sometimes things come off harsher than intended...
