After viewing about ten wedding halls thus far, I would have to say that Chateau Briand is my favorite.
There is just one issue, the room they recommended for us( the Saturnia room) seems a bit small for 150 guests.
Can anyone offer some insight on this room... will we be too cramped??
I am seriously considering booking my second choice (Chateau la Mer) because of this issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated-thx!

I think you should just really let them know you want your guests to be comfy and that u don't want them all squished at tables...

Re: Chateau Briand
I thought the same when I first booked the Saturnia room, however after talking to other vendors they convinced me it would actually make the party seem more intimate. we were going to open the wall in the room in use the extra space but then decided not to. we;re having about 175 people. when we saw the room it was set for 170 so i think it will be fine. i wouldnt worry. chateau briand is beautiful!! and i hear the food is amazing! our guests are looking forward to it a lot!

Re: Chateau Briand
thanks for all of your help ladies! I feel a lot better!! I am def going to ask them to open up the other half of the room. We are planning on having a winter wedding so I don't think it should be a problem.
Regardless, I am happy that we are planning to book with them.

I loveeeee Chateau Briand but they tried to sell me that same room! I look at the guy like are you kidding me? Put me in the Normandy Room! lol The Normandy Room is wayyy nicer and you can enter through the floor. Has anyone tried the food there yet? I haven't and coming from a big family of Italians I dont want to dissappoint them!

Re: Chateau Briand
Im in the saturnia room and they said that if you do go over 170 people they can open up the wall and use the extended space. I am having about 150 people as well and i recommend just using the saturnia room. one vendor had great insight on ur situation. he said that having all those people in the room will feel more intimate and more people will want to enjoy themselves and dance and mingle. where as if everyone was spread out people wouldnt interact as much and not dance as much. I think this might be true.
btw...im in love with the saturnia room.

Re: Chateau Briand
I have 130 for the Saturnia, but I've seen it set for 160 and there was still plenty of room between tables for guests to walk, even with the chairs pulled out. They were oval tables of 12.

Normandy holds 270. 150 defiantly wouldn't be squished in that room. i think your better off using the extension in the Saturnia

Re: Chateau Briand
when you are considering if the room is big enough to be comfy for the people you should also be thinking - - if you have alot of guests who want to dance - - will the dance floor be big enough or look like a packed subway car??
I was at an RH on a Sat when a wedding was in a room that supposedly could hold 120. they had 90 and it looked like everyone was dancing - - elbow to elbow - - subway car.....

all the dance floors at CB were big and for the smaller room there that was the biggest dance floor that I was shown with any 'small' room the other RH'soffered.
