Chateau Briand

If this posts twice Im sorry. This wedding is going to drive me crazy!!! I was wondering for the girls who looked at Chateau Briand, why didnt you book there. I have been to a few family weddings recently at other places that were great which is not a good thing because my family is going to compare my wedding to theirs. I would rather not invite my family but that would be bad...HAHA! Thanks guys.

I booked there. I can totally see why some people wouldn't though. The deco there is very modern. Some people don't like that!

I like that the place is modern and very different im so used to goin to weddings with the same look and we figured we are young and fun so why not pick a place that descibes us

I didn't really like the art deco theme, or the colors really. Some people love it and it is beautiful, but it just wouldn't go with what I wanted. I loved the CH room though, and I have talked to many people who went to weddings there and loved it! SO i think it just depends on your taste!

Hey!

After months and months of wedding planning, I have learned that (cliche as it may sound) you really have to do what makes YOU happy, and try not to worry about what other people think. If you try to please everyone (which is impossible anyway) you will end up becomming drained and miserable.

In the end, its YOUR (and your husband's) big day, your party, your photos, your beloved memories. To many of your guests it may just become a day that they remember fondly....believe me, if they love you they won't care about the decor of your reception hall!

Good luck :)

Actually Chateau Briand was the first place we checked out and then we looked @ Swan Club, Westbury Manor, Jericho Terrace, Bridgeview Yacht Club, Chateau La Mer, Coral House, Marriott in Melville, and The Riviera.

Our runner up was The Swan Club but for us Chateau Briand offered so much more. I loved Chateau Briand the moment we went. I love the decor of the place and felt that it fitted us and I could picture our family and friends having a blast there. I don't regret our decision booking with them at all but it all depends on what you and FH are looking for in a reception hall/venue.

I agree with Jenn. Just go with what you like and what you want! I love CB so I am slightly biased. I have been to a least 20 weddings each on special in their own way. If you like the style of CB then go for it! I checked out Fox Hollow, Sand Castle, Floral Terrace in LI, the Renaissance in Astoria, Elite Palace, Terrace in the Park (Queens) and that list doesn't include the weddings i went to in Long Island and queens. When I went into CB, I knew it was for me. I just had THAT feeling! So if you have that feeling, then go for it!
